TOPIC: Single vessel hardware profile

Single vessel hardware profile 5 years 5 months ago #116

Just got my BX1 hooked up, running 2.6, and the mash pre-heat works and mash/mash out works but when I get to boil I have no output to SSR? Everything seems to go thru HLT in the profile for the mash yet I thought with single vessel the HLT/MASH and Boil Kettle were combined through the one output (pin 1)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the problem! Unfortunately the single vessel support for BrewTroller is a pretty ugly hack, and I'll need a little more information to start investigating.

Which hardware profile (HWProfile.h) file are using?
Did you enable any other options or make any other changes in the Config.h or HWProfile.h files?
Also do you have any trigger assignments setup in the System Setup->Triggers menu?

Thanks I actually got it figured out last night, wasn't aware of the line in the config.h that had to be made active. I did notice there is "use mash as kettle" and "use HLT as kettle" and I'm wondering if they would work better as a single vessel BIAB setup. It appears they both remap everything to one.

Glad to hear you got it figured out!

Enabling the HLT as Kettle and Mash as Kettle options should accomplish the same thing, but I would advise using the single vessel support option instead. It accomplishes the same thing with fewer steps, and consolidates the changes made, so it is a bit easier to debug. There are places in the code that make assumptions based on the compile options setup, and it is possible that one the other two options makes an assumption that could have adverse effects on the system.

I agree, I'll stick to what works and that's the single vessel support option. Thank you for your help! Cheers
